Rick began
his insurance career after graduating from California State
University Fresno with a degree in Industrial Technology. He
received comprehensive training in the Loss Control field
during his five years with Aetna Life and Casualty. In 1978,
Rick joined Hoffman Brown Company and established their Loss
Control Department. Rick feels that the biggest reason for
being with HBC for over thirty years is the job satisfaction
he receives. "I’ve always been mechanically inclined and
that ability helps me in working with the many different
clients that I serve. When a new account comes aboard, we
review their operations and make recommendations. I will
tour the premises and get to know their business thoroughly.
After analyzing the client’s current situation, we make
specific recommendations that translate into a safer, more
productive working environment and , hopefully, cost
savings. But more than just bottom line dollars and
programs, I build long term relationships with our clients
and insurance companies".
Rick also
earned the CPCU, Chartered Property and Casualty
Underwriter, designation in 1980. This is a rigorous program
involving ten national examinations in the categories of
insurance, business management, economics, legislation and
ethics.
