Terry graduated from
California State University Northridge with a Business degree in marketing.
His friendships developed in college eventually lead him into the
insurance industry. Many of his business skills have been put to the
test in the insurance industry for the past 25+ years. At Hoffman
Brown Company, Terry is a commercial lines Account Executive
handling accounts of all sizes. Terry is well versed in the
insurance business, having both his fire and casualty license and
his life/medical license. Even though he has sold life and medical
insurance and enjoys talking about these coverages in generalities,
he is happy to allow Hoffman Brown’s benefits department handle the
actual marketing and servicing. "You cannot be an expert in
everything, so I prefer to concentrate on the Fire & Casualty side
of the business, there is so much to constantly learn and
Life/Medical is changing even faster".
Terry also has earned
a special insurance degree/designation, CIC. This stands for
Certified Insurance Counselor. In addition to the original series of
classes and tests, annual educational updates are required to
maintain the designation.
Terry has been
married for over 28 years and has two boys ages 22 and 24. In his
spare time he enjoys woodworking, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and of course soccer.
Terry loves to coach soccer. He has been extremely active with the AYSO organization. He has been on the board of directors as the
Regional Coach Administrator (Regional Head Coach).
He also gets some weekend exercise playing on a men’s adult
soccer league team on Sunday’s.
Another hobby that
Terry has little time for, lately, is flying radio controlled airplanes
of all types. His specialty is gliders. He modestly admitted that he
actually is one of the top pilots in the nation and actually flew in
Belgium as part of the U.S. 3-man team representing the U.S. at the
1979 World Glider Championships.
We are all glad to
have Terry as one of our talented account executives at Hoffman
Brown Company.
